it has been pretty alright so far - though i do enjoy INDV101 more than TRAD101. my INDIV teacher reminds me of ms toh - she's a linguistics phD student visibly passionate about what she is doing - &vocally expressive (: i thought it was going to be boring, but i was pleasantly surprised. even IPA wasn't as boring as it seems.
TRAD isn't boring, but i wish the teacher doesn't slip into chinese that often. first of all, i feel bad for the non-chinese speakers in class (although i do recognize that she is doing so for the chinese students) .but it does get a lil confusing - especially when her english accent sounds like chinese. so very often, if i miss my track of thoughts for a brief moment, i wouldnt be able to differentiate her chinese from english, or vice versa. &i'll be like, what is she trying to say?! but it kind of forces me to pay attention, so i shouldnt complain..
as for the san fran trip, there was this big chunk that i missed out - our return flight was actually cancelled. in fact, we paid extra for a direct trip. and that afternoon united air called to inform us the news - that the flight was cancelled due to maintenance. wth. so we boarded another flight to phoenix, and they arranged for a shuttle back to tucson - only that the shuttle doesn't go back to tucson airport where the car was parked at, but somewhere near U of A. it's ridiculous. &they say they will give us a coupon that could be used in our next trip with united air as compensation. i was so close to telling the attendant that what makes you think that we want a coupon as compensation - when i am not even sure if we ever want to fly with this airline anymore? but it's not her fault. &it'll be pointless complaining to her. that was the only part that ruined our trip. but yea, shit happens.

Then let our trial teach us patience.
